Some of you may have noticed I didn't get an IMM post out last week. I ended up being really busy and wasn't even at home to post. Therefore, there will be double the books, and double the fun for this week!

I had the opportunity to go to a joint author book signing to meet M.T. Anderson and Chris Van Allsburg. I love M.T. Anderson's books, especially my favorite Feed. I also got two of his other great YA novels signed, Thirsty and The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation: The Pox PartyAnd I was equally excited to meet Chris Van Allsburg who's written the extremely popular The Polar Express, and my personal favorite Two Bad Ants

I was also very luck to meet David Levithan, Jeff Hirsch, and 8 other YA authors at another book signing. I got Will Grayson, Will Grayson and The Eleventh Plague signed, both awesome books for those looking for recommendations.

Last week I checked out copies of Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan, Unison Spark by Andy Marino, Human.4 by Mike A. Lancaster, Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King, And Then Things Fall Apart by Arlaina Tibensky, and Pearl by Jo Knowles.

And this week I checked out Vesper by Jeff Sampson, Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake, This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel, Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien, and The Pledge by Kimberly Derting.

As you can see, I have a lot of reading ahead of me. Be sure to leave a comment with your IMM post, or just your thoughts on these reads. Happy Reading!

I had another AMAZING week this week! Lots of exciting editions to my personal library (a.k.a. my book hoard)

I won copies of both Amplified by Tara Kelly (Thanks Kristen!) and an autographed copy w/ swag of Intrinsical by Lani Woodland (Thanks Danielle!).

Speaking of autographed copies, guess which lucky went to an Ally Condie book signing for her new book Crossed? If you guess me, your right! I can't wait to read this one! (Thanks are due to Anderson's Bookshop and, of course, Ms. Condie herself)

I also got a copies of A Plague Year by Edward Bloor and My Beating Teenage Heart by C.K. Kelly Martin. They also came with some really cool Book Divas bookmarks! (Gotta give kudos to Leah and Melyssa @ Book Divas!)

I got an eGalley of Pure by Julianna Baggot. I'm really excited for this dystopian. (Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing)

And last, but definitely not least, I got a box of ARCs from my new favorite person ever Jill. I met Jill when I went to the Shatter Me pre-pub tour at a local indie bookstore. When I told her I was just starting blogging, she was kind enough to offer to give me a box of ARCs when I was next in town. There were all kinds of goodies inside, including Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver, The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe, Everneath by Brodi Ashton, Bewitching by Alex Flinn, Invisible Sun by David Macinnis Gill, Faery Tales & Nightmares by Melissa Marr, and so many more. (A HUMONGOUS thanks to Jill!)

I had a very exciting week! What was in your mailbox this week? Leave a link so I can visit your post! Happy Reading!

In My Mailbox (#4)

In My Mailbox is a bookish meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren

I had an awesome book week this week! Well, it's more an awesome book day since I acquired all my bookish goods just today. None the less, my haul is HUGE!

I'll start with the most exciting addition to my personal library (otherwise known as my book hoard). I won Raw Blue by Kristi Eagar! I'm so excited to read this one. I've heard lots of great things about it. And I have to offer thanks of epic proportions to Andrea @ The Busy Bibliophile

I volunteered, as usual, at my local library's Friends of the Library book sale today. I came home with numerous treasures at amazing prices (5 YA books for a buck!) These are just a few of my awesome finds.

I found cancelled copies of Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett and Brett Helquist, The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman, and Twice Taken by Susan Beth Pfeffer.  ARC's of Graveminder by Melissa Marr, and The Lost Saint by Bree Despain. And finally a slightly worn copy of Prep by  Curtis Sittenfeld. There are a bunch more from the sale, I just don't have the space or the time to list them all.

And of course, since I was at the library, I had to check out some the newer releases.

So obviously I had a great haul this week, I'd love to hear about yours. Don't forget to leave a link to your IMM post in the comments section. Happy Reading!

In My Mailbox (#3)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren

Not a bad book week this week. Although I didn't receive any ARCs :(, I did get some other goodies :).

I got a copy of a childhood favorite, Children of the Lamp: The Akhenaten Adventure through the soon to close Goodread's Bookswap. Big thanks to Deranged Pegasus for swapping.

From the library, I picked up a copy of The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath for a book club in November. I know it's a classic, but I haven't read it yet so we'll see how it goes.

And I bought The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen, and Looking for Alaska by John Green from my local thrift store. I already had a copy of Alaska I found at a library book sale, but the cover was torn and the new one still looks new. Yay!

What was in your mailbox this week? Tell me in the comments section. I LOVE comments.

In My Mailbox (#2)

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren

I had a pretty good book week this week.
  1. I won a copy of The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. Many thanks to Angie from Beneath the Jacket
  2. Then I received an advanced reading copy of Article 5 by Kristen Simmons. A big thank you to Tor Teen.
  3. I went to my local library and found a copy of Dirty Little Secrets by C. J. Omololu. I'd heard  good things about this one from a few different bloggers. And when I found out it was about hoarding, it immediatly became a must read for me. I'm not ashamed in the least to say that I'm totally addicted to the reality show Hoarders.
  4. And finally, my request for Caragh O'Brien's Prized was finally approved this week. Thank you Netgalley and Roaring Brook Press.
How was your book week? Tell me all about it, or just and a link in the comments section. I LOVE getting comments!

P.S. And yes, my desk is always that messy!

In My Mailbox (#1)

"In My Mailbox" is hosted by The Story Siren

Actually In My Mailbox:

Cinder by Marissa Meyer:
From what I understand, Cinder is basically a robot retelling of Cinderella. I originally heard about it here.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi:
This book has been getting major buzz in the book blogosphere lately. So, naturally, I have to know what all the fuss is about. It's a dystopian, one of my favorite genres, so I'll probably like it. I'm planning to go to a meet and greet with the author Wednesday, so I have to hurry up and read it.

Fracture by Megan Miranda:
This ones about a girl in a small town in Maine who falls through the ice and unexpectedly survives. When she wakes up from a coma, she finds her brain has rewired itself in strange ways. Paranormal ways. I've already read this one, but have to wait to post a review until December.
From the Library:

Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey: This book is about some kind of magic, with an LGBTQ romance. I'm looking forward to it.

If I Tell by Janet Gurtler: If I Tell is a contemporary fiction about a girl whose mother was fooling around with her sister's boyfriend, and the mother is now pregnant. I've never heard of a book with a similar premise. I have high hopes for this one.

Dust & Decay by Jonathan Maberry:  The highly anticipated (by me at least) sequel to Rot & Ruin

Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs: So far I haven't heard anything bad about this one. Tera Lynn Childs is also the author of the ever popular Forgive My Fins

SkyShip Academy: The Pearl Wars by Nick James:  Can I just say, awesome cover! It's matte except for the "lenses", which are shiny. The cover also has a blurb from James Dashner. The description on the back suggests it's a post-apocolypse/dystopian, but from the cover it looks very steampunk.

Every You, Every Me by David Levithan: It seems like about half of the novel is written in verse, and there are color photographs through-out. I'm always up for a unique reading experience. Whether it's maps, pictures, or transmedia.
